Knotwork Button

Many old cultures employed knotwork motifs in many different forms, this piece is done in a celtic or norse style.

Measures one inch in diameter weighs about 10 grams.

My original design, I carve the pattern out of wax then I turn it into bronze using the "lost wax casting method". This alloy is ancient bronze (90Cu:10Sn), I melt, alloy and cast the bronze myself, this bronze is very tough much harder then silver. I gave it a dark patina to bring out the details and make it look antique.
